Two feet of fresh snow from this storm. The Copper crews are busy digging out and are opening up more lifts and terrain daily.   There are 3 big snow making machines on the tubing hill going full blast. The Copper tubing hill is named in the Top 10 Tubing Hills.   I expect the tubing hill will open just past mid-December.

The Super Bee lift opened today so there is now easy ski in and ski out of the East Village of Copper Mountain.  Super Bee, Eagle, Flyer and Exclerator lifts are all open now!  The newly opened lifts and terrain made for short lift lines and uncrowded runs.

The Super Bee Lift open to the public:

The easiest access is via Skid Road

It snowed some last night and it's still snowing at mid day.   It was dumping hard at the top of the mountain.  It gave me an excuse to check out the brand new Aerie Lodge at the top of the Eagle Lift.  Nice!!!

I got a few excellent top to bottom runs in this morning(Ptarmigan down to Main Vein) before starting to work on preparing food.  Snow is forecast for tonight.  The Flyer lift is scheduled to open tomorrow.  Super Bee is scheduled to open Saturday.   Lots of snow makers still going right now in the middle of the day on Skid Road.

Oct 29th 2023

Alpine racers start their season training in over 18 inches of snow.

Oct 29th 2023 - It's still snowing this morning.  Well over a foot of heavy snow last night.  Perfect for creating a nice base on the mountain.

Oct 28th 2023  - It's Snowing at Copper Mountain

The second real snowfall of the year, but this one will help get the mountain open.  The racers start Monday on Exclerator.  Copper is scheduled to open to the public on Nov 13th.

This is a great place to find ideas about things to do in Summit County.   Especially great for ideas about restaurants.  But of course if you ask we can share some ideas too. The List of Top 5's (now with winners).
And of course it is no surprise that Copper Mountain is the #1 Ski Mountain in Summit County (despite the amazing competition!). Top 5 Mountains
